Alexander Wright - Mineral Township
Alexander Wright is a son of Thomas and Sarah Wright, of English descent, who came to America at the beginning of the present century and settled on a farm near Henderson, Mercer County. Here our subject was born, his early recollection of home being a log cabin set in the wild wood. When a mere lad he did what he could to help his parents clear the ground that surrounded their home of the heavy growth of forest trees. At the age of eleven years his father died and it largely fell on his young shoulders to support the family.

On October 13, 1864, Mr. Wright was wedded to Miss Mary L. Giebner, of Mercer, and one child, a daughter, came to bless their lives, who, when grown to young womanhood, became the wife of C. J. Gregory, of Blairsville, Ohio.

Mr. Wright has been a citizen of Mineral Township for the past forty-five years, and having made a success of life, has retired from work.
