HAZLEHURST, Miss., May 26 - Ellison Robertson killed James Boutwell and two sons. Lutcher (sic Luther) and Lonnie, on the Robertson plantation near here this afternoon by firing only three shots. Meagre reports say Mrs. Robertson and Mrs. Boutvvell and daughter were fighting in the field and that Robertson opened fire when his wife called for help.
Robertson used a pistol and shot each man successively, officials here say. He was arrested when preparing to give himself up and was placed in jail lure tonight.
The Boutwells were tenants on the Robertson plantation where the triple tragedy happened.
Reports received here are that Mrs. Boutwell had a knife in a fight with Mrs. Robertson and one of the Boutwell men had a hatchet. Robertson, it is said, was only a short distance from the scene and did not open lite until his wife called hint for help.
Robertson, a brother of the Mc-Comb City, Miss., postmaster, stated to the sheriff that he fired in self-defense. . . , -

Ellison Robertson, 60 years of age, charged with killing three tenants on his plantation Jas. Boutwell and son3 Luther and Lonnie was remanded to jail without bond at the preliminary trial. Mrs. Robertson, charged as accessory to the killing, was released under a 2,500 bail.
