OBITUARY:
Mrs. Thomas R. Blunt died at her home in Kilbourne Saturday morning following several days illness. She was born at Kinderhook, Scott county, June 24, 1839. When eleven years old she came with her mother and family to Mason county. On Dec. 23, 1858, she was united in marriage to Thomas R. Blunt. To this union were born six children, three of whom survive her.

In March 1855 she attended a meeting conducted by Rev. John Daniels at the Mt. Zion Baptist church and professed faith in her Master, was baptized and united with the Mt. Zion church. From 1855 to the present time she has been a faithful member of that body. She was an excellent worker in the Master's vineyard and her influence in her home community will be felt for many years. She was a leading member in the Utopia Aid Society and had a host of friends here and abroad.

She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, one son, L. G. Blunt, two daughters, Mrs. O. B. Harris and Mrs. Henry Clark, all of Kilbourne, one brother, William Parks of Cherryvale, Kan., three sisters, Mrs. Mary Traylor of Quincy Ill., Mrs. Kate Likes of Plainville, Ill., and Mrs. Elizabeth Blunt of Kincaid, Kan., and eight grandchildren.

The funeral was held at Mt. Zion church Monday at 2 p.m. Rev. James A. Ishmael officiating, assisted by Rev. George Hart, a former pastor of Mt. Zion church. An unusually large crowd were in attendance.
