Athaleen Holman Shepherd passed away peacefully on Wed. May 7, 2008 in Centerfield.
Athaleen was born July 10, 1921 in Fountain Green, Utah to Elmer and Zelda Holman. She married Loraine Shepherd July 19, 1939 in the Manti LDS Temple. They had seven children, LaFaye (Myron) Hamilton, South Jordan, Utah; Betty (Ralph) Wright, Centerfield, Utah; Marilyn (Richard) Brown, Mt. Pleasant, Utah; Robert, Marcia Nay, Mt. Pleasant, Utah; JoAnn (Clair) Arnoldson, Erda, Utah; and Debra. Mom loved to read, embroidery and tie quilts. Mom has gladly served in many church callings. Mom worked many years for the school teachers at Wasatch Academy, cleaning homes and taking care of their children and becoming their second mom. She also spent many years cleaning homes for the elderly. Mom was a member of the DUP. Mom was a very caring and compassionate person.
Mom is survived by her five daughters, eighteen grandchildren and thirty two great-grandchildren and six great great-grandchildren, one sister, and three brothers and her dog Gus. Mom was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Loraine, her two children Robert and Debra, grandson Kenny and her son-in-law Clair Arnoldson and brother LaVier Holman.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday May 13, 2008 at the Mount Pleasant LDS 4th Ward Chapel (295 S. State, red church) at 11:00 a.m..Viewing will be Mon. May 12, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Rasmussen Mortuary (96 N 100 W) and Tue. from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the Service.
Interment will be in the Mount Pleasant City Cemetery under the care of Rasmussen Mortuary.
