Elvon Jacobson Holman father, husband, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend passed away at home surrounded by his love ones November 4, 2012.

Elvon was born March 8, 1925 in Fountain Green Utah to Elmer and Zelda Holman. He married his first love and sweetheart, Ruby Lamb July 30, 1943 in Fountain Green for 61 years. After Ruby's passing he later married his second love Beth Heywood April 26, 2008.

Elvon loved life and was blessed by a wonderful family. He was a sheep herder in his early years and loved the outdoors. He worked in underground mining and later went to work at Kennecott Copper Corporation where he retired after 34 years.

He loved the life of horses. He loved the desert and chasing wild horses. He trained and raced quarter horses for years. His family spent a lot of time at the race track enjoying time together. Playing cards with family was an enjoyable time for him. He was so proud of his children and especially his grandchildren. He constantly worried about them.

He is survived by his wife, Beth Heywood; sons, John (Charlene) Holman and Arden Holman; daughter, LuAnn (Keven) Inkley; brother, Merrill Holman; sister, Jean Bowles; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruby; brothers, LaDrue and Lavier; sister Athaleen Shepard; and daughter-in-law, Joyce Holman. Special thanks to Beth and her children for their unconditional love, constant care and devotion to the family.

Funeral Services will be held 12 noon Thursday, November 8, 2012 at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W. 2700 S., where friends and family may call Thursday 10:30-11:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment: Redwood Memorial Estates. Online condolences: www.peelfuneralhome.com
