Theresa was the daughter of John & Emma Goosman Guinsler. She was born and raised in Ohio, graduating from Kirkersville High School. On Oct 1, 1944 she marred William A. Sharland in Washington DC. William and Theresa had seven children.
In the early 1960's, she got a job at the Standard Shade Roller Company, which she held for 22 years before retiring in 1984.
Surviving Theresa besides her six sons and one daughter, were two daughter-in-laws, a son-in-law, ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousin.
Three sisters, Margaret Moore, Mary Crumbaker and Ruth Hicks, three brothers, Vincent, James and William Guinsler, and a granddaughter died before her.
