Mrs. John Thomas Ward, 86, died January 23, 1971 in a hospital at Hobbs, N.M., where she had lived the past two years.
Gene Roden and Sons funeral home held services for her Tuesday, Edwin Davis assisted by Ira Thompson officiating, with interment in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
A daughter of William and Mary Cole, Mrs. Ward was born in Mississippi, September 8, 1884.
She was married to Mr. Ward in 1904, and his death occurred February 23, 1952.
Mrs. Ward is survived by four children: Mrs. Elmer Morrow and William Ward, of Hobbs, NM; Walker Ward, Austin, CO, and Sam Ward, Weatherford, TX; also 35 other descendants, Mrs.
Revis Morris, 2404 West Kaufman, is a widow of Mrs. Ward's son by a former marriage.
