Oscar Wesley, 108 Edwards St., Cottage Hills, a foreman in brass mill of Olin Mathieson Chemlral Corp., died at 5:30 a.m., at Wohl Memorial Hospital, St. Louis. He had been ill since Jan. 22, and entered the St. Louis hospital two weeks ago. I.

Mr. Wesley, 52, had been employed at Olin Mathieson Chemical Corp. and its predecessor, Western Cartridge Co. for 32 years. He was a member or the plant Quarter Century Club.

He was born at Raleigh, July 27, 1909, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Wesley. He had resided in Cottage Hills for the past 21 years.

While residing at Raleigh he affiliated with Mt. Pleasant Social Brethren, He also was a member of Bethalto Masonic Lodge: Cottage Hills fire department, and was a Cottage Hills Boy Scout Committeeman.

Surviving are his widow, the former Retha Acord, to whom he was married May 13, 1934, at Raleigh; a daughter, Linda and a son Darrell, both of Cottage Hills; four brothers, Walter and, John Raleigh; Cloid, Eldorado, and Charles, Alameda, Calif. seven sisters, Mrs. Eva Stevens, Mrs. Lizzie Roberts, and Mrs. Bessie Irvin, Eldorado, Mrs. Cora Stevens, Galatia; Mrs. Emma Booten, Tremont; Mrs. Nellie Reed, Adams City, Okla., and Mrs. Ruth Vannoy, Bethalto. Four sisters and a brother preceded him in death.

The body is at Smith Funeral Home, Alton, where friends may call after 2:30 p.m., Sunday and until 11 a.m., Monday when the body will be taken to First Baptist Church, Cottage Hills, for services at 2 p.m.

The Rev. A.R. Fields and the Rev. J. W. Gholson will conduct the services. Burial will be at Roselawn Memory Gardens.

Casket bearers will be Cecil Blankenship, Harold Shearer, Norman Shewmaker, Milton Tarrant, Eddie Autry, and Claud Sturgill.
