He was the son of Joseph Marinello, Sr and Rose Marinello of Brooklyn NY. He had siblings Paul Marinello, Mary Anne Marinello Fuccillo, and Concetta 'Tina' Marinello DiVittorio.

He was killed on Mission 263 in the plane nicknamed 'Tail End Charlie'. His crewmate and good buddy was Sgt Joseph P 'Jersey Joe' Owsianik.

B-17G #42-97159 ‘Tail End Charlie' of the 2nd Bomb Group, 20th Bomb Squadron, left the base at Amandola, Italy 29 August 1944 on a mission to bomb the Provoser Oil Refinery, in the former Czechoslovakia, when it came under enemy attack and crashed at Preckovice. The crew members were~

Gravesite Details

Disinterred from Long Island National Cemetery in July 1968, and moved to Nassau Knolls Cemetery at Port Washington NY.
