According to the Report of the Death of an American Citizen filed, he passed on October 30, 1931 at 8:25 a.m. of an apparent heart attack while at Longitude 13-10 West. He was transported to the United States in the care of E. F. Mitchell, master of the S/S American Importer. This was filed by the American Consul General John E. Kehl in Hamburg, Germany.
Frederick Baer Dies On Steamer at Sea
Frederick Baer, 41, former resident of Scranton, died at sea recently while at work as an oiler on the American Importer ship. The body was returned to New York and last night was removed to the Miller funeral home from where the funeral will be held this afternoon with services at 2:30 o'clock. Interment will be in Abington Hills cemetery.
Besides his widow, he is survived by two children, Augusta and Frederick, and his parents who reside in Germany.
