Vernon Burns, 71, died Monday, February 7, 2000 in Leflore. He was born February 5, 1929 in Leflore. He was a siding contractor, a lifelong resident of the area, and a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army. He was married to the former Ora Robison for forty-seven years.
Mr. Burns was Preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Dora (Bunton) Burns; four brothers; and four sisters.
He is survived by his wife of the home; three daughters and sons-in-law; two brothers; four grandchildren; three great granddaughters; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, extended family and loved ones, and a host of friends.

Graveside services will be at 10 am, Wednesday, February 9, at the Leflore Cemetery in Leflore with the Rev. Roy Boggs officiating
