Margaret was born to Michael and Kate Murphy in Covington, Kentucky in 1880. She married Edward Gibson of Hamilton Co., Ohio about 1903. He was the son of George W. & Rhoda (Quertermous) Gibson. She and Edward had at least three children: Anna Gibson, Edward "Red" Gibson, and George W. "Hoot" Gibson. Her sister, Mary Murphy, lived with her in 1920 when the family lived in Newport. At the time of her death she resided at 304 Poplar Street in Bellevue, Kentucky, with her husband.
