Posted Thursday, November 5, 2020 12:26 pm

Glenn Wiggins of Chimacum, Washington passed away at home on Oct. 23, 2020 in the company of loved ones.

Glenn was a 21-year veteran of the U.S. Army and served with distinction as a member of the "Big Red One," the 1st Infantry Division, where he achieved the rank of Command Sergeant Major. After his military service he became a master mason and homebuilder, eventually putting down roots in Chimacum.

He was a fixture in the local community and was genuinely loved by all that were lucky enough to know him. Glenn was well known for his humor and probably made most everyone he ever met laugh at least once. He was a generous man, selflessly helping all those in need who crossed his path. An avid hunter and sportsman, Glenn's wide-ranging interests included everything from lawnmower racing to fast pitch softball. He especially loved the game of softball, enjoying many years coaching, pitching and umpiring. In 2002 he was inducted into the Greater Seattle Fast Pitch Hall of Fame.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Commadore and Nana Wiggins and siblings Imogene, Norma Jean, Grace and Inez. Glenn will continue to live in the hearts of many and will be sorely and deeply missed. A remembrance gathering will be held at the Chimacum Cafe, the date yet to be determined
