W. H. Apple is Dead.
Death came Thursday in Osborne of William Apple, an 1878 settler in the country southeast of Bellaire where he resided for many years. He left there about fourteen years ago and located in Downs. His body was laid to rest in Custer cemetery beside that of his first wife. The deceased was born in Fulton county, IL, June 23, 1857, and died in Osborne, , Kans., January 14, 1921 at the age of 63 years, 6 months and 21 days. He was married to Mary Alice Vinsonhaler March 1, 1876, to them , being born eight children, two dying in infancy. The surviving ones are Mrs. Lillie Smith, Cedar Bluffs; L. P. Apple, Downs; J. A. Apple, Smith Center; Mrs. Bessie Yenne, Smith Center; Mrs. Ruby Hull, Covington, Okla; Lester Apple, Downs. The wife and mother died in 1910, and Mr. Apple was married a second time in 1917 and the couple made their home in Osborne until his death.
