DIED - HAMMER - At his home on Madison street, at 9:30 p.m. Thursday, May 4, 1911, Mr. Frank Hammer, aged 71 years, 8 months and 9 days.
Deceased was born in Bavaria on August 25, 1839, and emigrated to America with his parents in 1853, coming direct to Dodge county, where he has since resided. His first wife was Caroline Ptaschinski, who died about twenty-five years ago. About twenty years ago he married his present wife, who survives him. He also leaves six children - three sons - Frank of Milwaukee, Adolph, who is at Oshkosh, and Lonnie of this city; Mrs. R. C. Clark of this city; Mrs. H. C. Volkman of Milwaukee, and Mrs. Duvoll of Chicago. He is also survived by one brother - Wastle [sic - Sebastian?] Hammer of this city, and two sisters - Mrs. P. Zink of Milwaukee and Mrs. Paulitz of Iowa.
The funeral was held from St. Peter's church at 9 o'clock Monday morning, and the interment was in the family lot at St. Mary's cemetery.
[According to his death certificate, Frank succumbed to Chronic pericarditis and chronic bronchitis; attending physician was Dr. Charles F. North of Beaver Dam; informant on the death certificate was also the undertaker, Louis Albert Briese.]
