Gerald Bradford, 82, of Lincoln, passed away Feb.18, 2024. Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 23, at Wyuka Funeral Home, Lincoln. Viewing one hour prior to service. Memorials to the family for further designation.
Gerald D. Bradford, a proud military man, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on February 18, 2024, at the age of 82. He was born on July 14, 1941, in Fremont, Nebraska, to Lee and Meta Bradford.
Gerald's life was one of service and adventure. After graduating from Arlington High School in Nebraska, he embarked on fulfilling his duty in the US Navy, which he joined in 1958. He cherished his time in the Navy and carried the pride of serving his country throughout his life. After his career in the Navy, Gerlad drove semi-trucks until his retirement.
In 2004, Gerald found love and companionship with Sue, whom he married on February 16th in South Dakota. Together, they shared a passion for travel, frequently visiting South Dakota and indulging in the joy of spring training.
Gerald was not only dedicated to his country and his wife but also to his family. He was a loving and supportive father to his children, Penny, Jerry Lee, John, Patty, Mike and Jennifer. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Gerald had a variety of interests. During all four years of high school, he played Basketball and Baseball. As an adult he enjoyed coaching softball, bowling, and watching baseball, particularly cheering for the Kansas City Royals. Additionally, he was an avid supporter of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Gerald is survived by his devoted wife, Susan Bradford, his children, grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Gerald was the youngest and the baby of his family. He embraced the spoils of his sisters. He is preceded in death by his sisters Nadine Meier, Elaine Grabbe, Marge Cook, and Bonnie Harrington, as well as his brother, Lee Martin Jr. who passed as an infant.
A funeral service to honor and celebrate Gerald's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 23, 2024, at Wyuka Funeral Home in Lincoln, Nebraska, with a viewing one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family for further designation.
