"Mrs. Cora Ellen Thomas, 57, Liberty, died Monday at the Osteopathic Center. She was born in Oneida, Tenn., and had lived in this area 30 years. Mrs. Thomas operated Cora's Alibi Lounge for 12 years. She was a Catholic and a member of the Sugar Creek Moose Lodge. She leaves two sons, Ronald E. Thomas of Liberty, and Orville E. Thomas of Gladstone; a daughter, Mrs. Joyce Billingsley of Spring Hill in Johnson County; a brother, Willis Connors of Hamilton, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Davis of Oneida, and Mrs. Frances Slaven of Muncie, Ind.; 14 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Mount Moriah Chapel; burial in Mount Moriah Cemetery." The Kansas City Times, July 12, 1979
