She was born in Oneida, Tennessee. She was a homemaker, and loved nothing more than taking care of her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Riverview United Baptist Church.
She is survived by three children, Sandie (husband-Dale) McDaniel, Vernon (wife-Cindy) Slaven, and Bob (wife-Pam) Slaven; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Dee Slaven; parents, Jerry and Cora L. (Duncan) Connors; granddaughter, Amy Smith; great-grandson, J.R. Stigal; one brother, Willis Connors; and five sisters, Gladys David, Cora Epilato, Reba Beets, Wilma Connors, and Mary Greene.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at Elm Ridge Funeral Home with Rev. Daryl Parsons officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Elm Ridge Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association.
