Emmett D., Allis born at Stephen's Mills, Stuben Co. NY on 3rd of May 1859 and died at his home near Virgil, Greenwood Co., KS. 28 Jun 1905, aged 46 years, 11 months and 25 days. In 1864 at the age of 5 came with his parents to Virgil. Attended school at both Manhattan and Emporia. Teacher in public schools in Greenwood Co. KS. Married Arena Dalton, 5 Oct. 1882. Had 8 children, three preceded him in death. In Sep. 1903 he moved to Baldwin, KS. to give their children a college education at Baker U. Member M. E. Church. Leaves wife, 5 children, mother 1 sister, 2 brothers. Services by Rev. Flickenger of Madison. Burial Virgil Cemetery.
