Mamie C. Allis, 85, 1010 College, died today in a Topeka hospital following a short illness. She was born February 17, 1890 at Virgil and had lived in Topeka since 1956.
Miss Allis attended Baker University and Emporia State College. She was an elementary teacher for 41 years and taught in Virgil for 35 years.
She was a member of Virgil United Methodist Church and the Kansas and National Education Association.
Survivors include 2 sisters, Eda R. Allis, Topeka, and Mrs. Charles Terrell, Eudora; and a brother, Frank H. Allis, Anderson, Ind.
Services will be Monday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery.
