The son of John B. and Jane M. (Terell) Francis enlisted 18 July 1861 at Camp Adams. Wounded at the battle of Antietam, he died at the Elias Groves Farm, was buried on the field, and moved to Washington Cemetery in 1866. (thank you George Seitz)
