Lila H. Fox, 80, of 713 Cedar Street in Elk Rapids, died Monday morning at her home after a sudden illness. She was born Jan. 18, 1895 to Albert R. and Mary (Warner) Barnes in Torch Lake Village. She was Married to Charles Fox in Alden in 1940. She lived in Elk Rapids all of her life and was a farmer, enjoying sewing, cooking and gardening. She was affiliated with the United Methodist Church in Kewadin and a member of the Elk Rapids Rebekahs and Kewadin Who's Club. Preceding her in death are two sisters, Mae Rosenberg and Cora Farrow, three brothers, Robert, Earl and Vernon; and two husbands, Frank Hockin who died in 1939, and Charles W. Fox, who died in 1966. Surviving are one brother, Albert R. Barnes of Torch Lake village and many nieces and nephew. Funeral services will be Wedn3esday, 2 p.m. at Dockery-Wilhelm-Smith Funeral Home in Elk Rapids. The Rev. Robert Doner will officiate. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Elk Rapids. Friends may call a the funeral home Tuesday from 1-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
