Heilman was a former president of the Ohio Restaurant Association.
He was born in Huron and moved to Fort Pierce in 2004 from Deerfield, Fla.
He graduated from Cornell University and later received a bachelor's degree from Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton. Heilman and his late wife, Dorothy, were Cornell Hotel School benefactors.
Survivors include his son, Robert L. Heilman of Melrose, Fla.; daughters Elizabeth A. Heilman of Fort Pierce, Fla., and Lynne L. Fayo of Cover, S.C.; brother, Robert E. Heilman of Lenore, N.C.; and seven grandsons. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; and son, Ross W. Heilman.
A memorial service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in St. Gregory Episcopal Church, 100 NE Mizner Blvd., Boca Raton, Fla.
