Aubrey L "Bill" Baird, age 78, died Wednesday, October 17 at Houston Community Hospital. Funeral services were held Friday, October 19 at Houston Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Houston Cemetery with the Rev. Grady Bailey, Jr officiating.
The son of the late Andrew Crawford Baird and the late Emma Walker, he was a retired building contractor. A Mason, he was a member of Houston Lodge No 67 and was a member of Houston First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ruth Boatman Baird of Houston; six daughters, Mrs. Nell Sebold of Salt Lake City, Utah, Mrs. Sarah Haire and Mrs. Margaret Lacey, both of Houston, Mrs. Helen Cooper of Memphis, Tennessee, Mrs. Rachel Doss of Otsego, Michigan and Mrs. Martha Allen of Pearl river, Louisiana; two sons, Billy Baird of Marcellus, Michigan and Richard Baird of the U S Air Force in Germany; one brother, Hollis Baird of San Antonio, Texas; 26 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were his grandsons,
