Claude Allen, 78, R.R. 1 French Lick, died at 12:40 a.m. Tuesday at the Orange County Hospital. A retired farmer and former circus employee, he was a rig foreman with the Hagenbeck, Wallace and Barnum and Bailey circuses for 33 years. A native of Orange County, he was born October 4, 1896. He was a member of the Red Quarry Christian Church. The only immediate survivor is a half sister, Lydia Vaughual "(we know nothing of this half sister)" of Los Angeles, California. The funeral is being held at 2:00 p.m. today (Thursday) at the Brosner-Drabing Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Ames Chapel Cemetery.
