Cozad, Richard Allen was born September 30, 1942 at Grant, Iowa tp Ralph and Gladys (Jenkins) Cozad. He passed away at Regional Health Center, Clarinda, Iowa, Monday, April 7, 2008 at the age of 65.
Following high school he served during the Viet Nam era in the United States Army from Julu 1964 to August 1966. He was married to Inez Mattly, and they had two children: Richie and Corbie. After his discharge he began working for the Taylor County Secondary Roads Department a maintainer man for thirty-four and one-half years until retiring in December 2001. He lived most of his life in Bedford and in 1990 he moved to Clarinda where he resided at the time of his death. Richard liked sports, a big Hawkeye fan, and enjoyed listening to talk radio.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents.
Services were held Thursday April10, 2008 at Old Memory Cemetery, New Market, Iowa. A memorial fund is being established in Richard's name. Walker-Merrick Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements, CLARINDA HERALD JOURNAL, Clarinda, Iowa, Apr 16, 2008.
