Shirlee (Bettencourt) Peters, born in Livermore to a longtime valley farm family, was called home to our Lord on Jan. 12, 2024, at age 89. Shirlee was a graduate of Livermore High School and worked at Duarte's Pharmacy and other retail. She was Livermore rodeo queen for one year. She then went on to get her degree at Heald College and was hired as their placement director upon graduation, a position she held for a number of years before retiring.

Shirlee lived a full life, always with a smile and light of heart. She will be sorely missed by her family as well as the residents and staff of Rosewood Gardens where she resided for the past seven years.

Shirlee was preceded in death by her beloved husband Sherman Peters, parents Erma and Walter Bettencourt of Livermore and Linden, and her brothers Howard and Norman. She is survived by her sister and numerous nieces and nephews.
