Funeral services for Louis Winslow Alamond, age 79, of Lake Providence, Louisiana will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Providence Church, 175 Estuary Drive in Lake Providence, Louisiana.
Reverend Don Boyett will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Providence Memorial Cemetery in Lake Providence, Louisiana.
A time of visitation will be held from noon until the time of service on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Providence Church.
Services are under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Lake Providence.
Mr. Alamond passed into eternal life on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at the East Carroll Parish Hospital in Lake Providence, Louisiana.
He was a millwright for Brown Root for a number of years. He was a computer programmer analyst for the Internal Revenue Service for 20 years. He was legally blind, but he wanted to work so he wouldn't have to draw disability. He loved his family.
Louis is preceded in death by his father, Albert Alamond; his mother, Ella Victoria (Foster) Alamond; grandson, Jonathan Robert Lewis "Little Bit" Frith; brother, Floyd Alamond (Carolyn); brother, Norman Alamond (Audrey); sister, Betty Jo Holley; and 3 half sisters, Wetonia Smith, LaMay Gist, and Odalee Smith.
Louis is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda Carolyn (Lancaster) Alamond of Lake Providence, Louisiana; son and his wife, Joe and Jolene Blake of West Monroe, Louisiana; daughter, Michelle Blake, of Burlington, Kentucky; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Kristi Alamond of Oak Grove, Louisiana; 6 grandchildren: Megan Victoria Alamond; Kendall Lane Alamond; Abbigail Danielle Alamond; Jace Blake; Jacky Blake; and Mary Blake and a number of nieces & nephews.
Pallbearers are: Kendall Alamond, Braden Alamond, Blake Alamond, George Alamond, Kade Creech, and Tiger Dunn.
