Bette Jo Dennis, age 81, of Holts Summit, Mo. passed away Saturday, June 25, 2022 at SSM St. Mary's Hospital.
She was born on July 13, 1940 in Lake Providence, Louisiana, the daughter of Albert and Ella (Foster) Alamond.
She was married to Arthur David Holley and to this union her children were born. He preceded her in death in 1978.
Bette graduated from Lake Providence High School and accepted a position doing clerical work.
She later completed training to work as a Certified Nursing Assistant and a Certified Medication Technician. Throughout her career, Bette worked in various skilled nursing and long-term care facilities.
Bette was a fan of classic country music and loved the musical stylings of Marty Robbins and Patsy Cline.
She was a Godly woman and was passionate about instilling strong values into her children.
Her grandchildren were the absolute light of her life and she made it a point to be present with her family.
Bette will be remembered for her feisty yet loving personality.
Survivors include: her daughters, Margaret Thompson (husband, Alan) of Holts Summit, Mo. and Paula Quehl of Jefferson City, Mo.; one brother, Louis W. Alamond (wife, Linda) of Lake Providence, Louisiana; eight grandchildren, Kenneth Dennis, William "Andy" Quehl, Donald Quehl (wife, Monica), Karl Quehl (wife, Natosha), Heather Moraine (husband, Michael), Anthony Thompson (husband, Randy), Keith Thompson (wife, Donna) and Brandon Thompson; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, David "Dwayne" Holley; two brothers, Norman and Robert Alamond; and one grandson, Steven Jackson.
Private services to honor Bette, will be held for the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Bette Dennis Memorial Fund c/o Freeman Mortuary 915 Madison St. Jefferson City, MO 65101
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
