She was born May 15, 1931 in Layton, Utah, a daughter of Vernon Richard and Fern Marie Anderson Morgan. She attended Davis High School and received her diploma.

Luain married Lowell Mervin Stephens, July 3, 1948, in Elko, Nevada. He preceded her in death on June 27, 2008.

She was a lifelong resident of Kaysville and Layton where she was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Luain was a nurturing caregiver and served many in need.

She worked for Bob Behling in his fruit orchards, Clover Club, Defense Distribution Depot Ogden, And Hill Air-Force Base where she retired.

Luain was very family oriented, a wonderful seamstress, sewing numerous outfits for herself and extended family and friends. She spent a lot of time attending horse events with her husband, camping and picnicking with family and friends. She enjoyed embroidery and crocheting dollies along with blankets. Putting puzzles together and reading books were just a few of her favorite things to do. Heaven gained an amazing angel. Luain was a very caring person who will leave fond memories with all who knew her.

The family wishes to express appreciation and their heart-felt thanks to AFD Advanced Care Home Health & Hospice along with Cascade Springs Home Health and Hospice who provided excellent comfort care during Luain's last days of life and eased the family's difficult times, especially nurse Brandi. The family is also very grateful to Luain's granddaughter-in-law Liz Thurgood for being willing and available at a moment's notice to ensure Luain received the best care and was at her side at the end.
