Marjorie Lee Beck, daughter of the late James and Grace (Spring) Adcox, was born on
August 18, 1924, in Chula, MO and passed away on May 11, 2023, in Springfield, MO. She was 98 years, 8 months, and 23 days of age.
Marjorie graduated from Central Senior High School on June 5, 1942, in Kansas City, MO.
She married Ernest Lester Beck on June 28, 1943, in Kansas City, Kansas. She worked at Emery, Bird, and Thayer Dry Goods Company as a clerk until she was 21 and then joined the Navy and became a Wave.
In 1965, she and Ernest moved to Buffalo, MO where they made a home and got into the well drilling business until they retired at the age of 59. She became a minister's wife when Ernest was called to preach at the age of 45. They began their ministry at a church in Lebanon, then a church on JJ Hwy in 1975, and then they finally built the River of Life Church in 2000. She loved serving as a minister's wife where she was a wonderful prayer warrior, a mother to us all and a Holy Ghost filled Godly woman.
Marjorie loved gardening, enjoyed riding horses with her husband, and traveling in their motorhome across the United States to fellowship with different churches and to visit the seashores.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, James and Grace (Spring) Adcox; her six sisters, Mildred Dollinger, Marsha Smith, Maribelle Morris, Alice Richardson, Marie Wilson and Nancy Ryan. She is survived by two sisters. She will be truly missed by her sisters, nieces, nephews, other family members, her friends, and her church family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at the River of Life Church. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens of Memory. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo.
