Pauline Murphy Obituary
Pauline Martin Murphy, known as "Nina" to close friends and family, left this world peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003. She was born April 6, 1919, in Slab Fork, W.Va., to Frank and Carrie Branch Martin. Mrs. Murphy was a widow of the late Dr. Edgar Lee Marston and had resided in Winston-Salem for the last 40 years. She was a faithful member of Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church since 1954. She was a veteran of World War II and served as a nurse in the South Pacific. Mrs. Murphy leaves behind a daughter, three grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor J.R. Gardner officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Churchland. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today, Dec. 2, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church, c/o Silvia Snider, 3595 Sowers Road, Linwood, NC 27299.
