After a long battle with strokes and heart issues, and the passing of his last surviving sibling two weeks prior, Wilbur died peacefully in his sleep at the age of 91.
Wilbur is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years, Billie Jeanette Everett, his daughter, Pamela J. York, as well as his many siblings, aunts, and uncles.
He is survived by his son, Irwin D. Everett and daughter-in-law, Tracie Everett of New Caney, TX, along with 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Wilbur was born and raised in Houston, TX. He served two tours in the Korean War; first as an infantryman and then as a tank driver. After coming home from the war, Wilbur explored working in the electrical engineering field but found his true calling in the field of welding. Working as a welder provided Wilbur and his family the opportunity to travel throughout the United States, visiting distant relatives, many monuments and parks, and seeing as many sights as they could. They were well travelled by the time he retired.
Wilbur will be laid to rest with his beloved wife, Billie, in Conroe Memorial Park Cemetery.
