Cynthia A. "Cindy" Carlin, age 76, of Council Bluffs, passed away December 30, 2023 at the Hansen House in Council Bluffs.

Cindy was born September 22, 1947 in Council Bluffs to the late Fred and Leta (Haner) Berg. She graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1965. Cindy married John Carlin on April 15, 1967 in Council Bluffs. They were blessed with two daughters, Amy and Kim. Cindy worked for the Union Pacific Railroad as a clerk in the accounts payable department for 42 years retiring in 2007.

In addition to her parents, Cindy was preceded in death by her sister, Carolyn Alley in 2022.

Cindy is survived by her husband of 56 years, John Carlin of Council Bluffs; daughters, Amy (Doug) Gardner of Johnston, IA, Kim (Jeremy) Haase of Papillion, NE; 5 grandchildren, Dylan, Jared, Drew, Carlin and Connor; sister, Elizabeth (Dale) Hiers; brother-in-law, Al Alley all of Council Bluffs.

Visitation with the family, Saturday, 2-3 p.m. with a memorial service beginning at 3:00 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Inurnment will be held later in the Omaha National Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to EveryStep Hospice.
