Clayborne A. "Pete" Arnold, Jr. of Gray TN, passed away Monday December 18, 2023, at Lakebridge Healthcare Center.

Pete was the son of the late Clayborne A. and Beatrice Lewis Arnold. He was a United States Army Veteran who served in the Korean War.

Pete enjoyed fishing, gardening, and reading. He retired from Hickory Chair Furniture in 1995 after twenty-five years of service. Pete was a special man who loved his dogs, especially his fur baby, Sheba.

In addition to his parents Pete was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Arnold.

Pete was survived by his sister, Mary Fagen; sister-in-law, Sue Arnold; two nieces, Lori Arnold Horton and husband Lloyd, and Teresa Fagan Freeman and husband Steven; and nephew, Michael Fagan.

Pete's family would like to thank his friends and neighbors, Greg Roe, Barbara Dixon, and Richard Hicks.

An inurnment service will be held for Mr. Clayborne A. "Pete" Arnold, Jr. on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Mountain Home National Cemetery at 1 pm. The Greene County Veterans Services will accord military honors. Family and friends are requested to meet at the cemetery by 12:50 pm Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Johnson City Washington County Animal Shelter, 3411 N. Roan Street, Johnson City, TN 37601.
