Jo Ann Conner, 87, of Port Byron, IL, died Sunday, December 17, 2023 at Shamrock Villas in Cordova, IL. Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 22, 2023 at Gibson – Bode Funeral Home, Port Byron. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the start of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairfield Cemetery, Port Byron.
Jo Ann was born January 8, 1936 in Port Byron, IL, the daughter of George and Gwendolyn (Airy) Harris. She was a beautician, working from her shop at her home. Jo Ann married Jerry D. Conner on May 4, 1963. Together, they enjoyed camping and traveling with their fifth wheel camper. She loved music and playing the piano, organ and accordion. In her younger days she sang for many weddings. Jo Ann also enjoyed bowling with her family and friends. She was a loving and caring wife, Momma and Grandma and she cherished her dogs.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Brenda (Steve) Kachelhoffer, Dodgeville, WI, Shelley Strombach, Cordova; a son, Jerry D. Conner, Jr.; grandchildren, Anne (Shaun) McDade, Madison, WI, Matthew (Rachel) Kachelhoffer, Azle, TX, Denny (Thanh Nguyet) Owen, Jr., Davenport, Heather Richardson, East Moline, Lynn Marie Conner, Moline, Chelsea Lynn Conner, Moline, Julie Fare, Casper, WY; great grandchildren, Jesse James Kachelhoffer, Cooper Kachelhoffer, Michael (Kassidy) Gabbert, Taylor Gabbert (Jaymin Gordon), Do Pham Owen, Nathan Fare, Madelyn Fare; great-great grandchildren, Chevy, Stassi, Josiah, Oaklynn Grace and Amelia. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jerry, and son-in-law, Sid Strombach.
