Alexander was the son of John B. Montooth and Nancy O. Connett.
He married on September 16, 1893, Allen County, Indiana, to Ella May Yarian.
They were living in Swan Township, Noble County, Ohio, in 1900 thru 1930. Alexander was a teamster in 1900, a farmer in 1910 and 1920. Their daughter Grace was still at home in 1930.

ALEXANDER MONTOOTH DIES OF SUDDEN HEART ATTACK
Funeral of Retired Noble County Farmer to be Held Today at His Home in Auburn

The funeral of the late Alexander Montooth, a retired farmer, will be held this afternoon at 2:30 at the residence. 302 East First street, Auburn. The Rev. J. O. McKinley, pastor of the Auburn Church of the Nazarene, of which Mr. Montooth was a member, will officiate, assisted by the Rev, H. H. Hedges, former pastor of the Auburn Church of God. Interment will be made in Cedar Chapel cemetery.

Mr. Montooth had been in ill health for some time, but was able to attend church Sunday. At noon Sunday he was sitting on a davenport when he suffered a fatal heart attack.

He was born at West Leipsic. O., Jan. 17, 1867. making his age more than sixty-eight years at death. He was married Sept. 14, 1893, to Ella Yarian of near Churubusco, and they lived on a farm south of LaOtto many years, moving to Auburn four and a half years ago.

Surviving are the widow, one daughter, Miss Grace Montooth, at home, one brother, Everett Montooth of Fort Wayne, and a sister, Mrs. Mae Morse of San Francisco.
