Note: Ancestry has as born 1784 son of Daniel and Alice Runnels. The age is off.
Abraham was called Abram in most records. He had a wife named Sarah, perhaps two wives both of the same name, one being Sarah Twombley. Note: the wife Twombly is attributed to the Abraham born 1784, son of Daniel and Alice (Runnels) Colomy and the father of the following children, however in the 1870 Abram was age 55, born about 1815, with those children below.
Children of Abram and Sarah born in New Durham were:
-Child of perhaps first wife Sarah born November 22, 1851
Children of second wife Sarah:
-George W. born November 15 1857, died 1902 Swanzey
-Charles F. or R. born April 19, 1860
-Mary Irene born October 16, 1861 died young
-Sarah R. born September 28, 1863 who died at 2 mos of age
-Maszina M. J. born January 7, 1865 (recorded as 5th child) Mazina M. Colomy was recorded as wife of William B. Tuttle on the records for their children. I could not verify if it was this Maszina but they were both born New Durham. Mazina Tuttle also gave her name as Minnie M. Colomy which would be odd being that was her sister's name. She switched to Mazina B. in the 1900 census.
-Minnie B. born about 1867 and last known child married Charles W. Edgerly 1880 and died 1906, buried Edgerly Cemetery
Abram and Sara were living with the Runnels/Reynolds family in 1850, both age 34 at that time and did not yet have living children. There was also an older Sarah in the household, born about 1788, enumerated as Colomy.
The family resided in New Durham and Abram was a farm laborer in 1870. Living children in thehousehold at that time were George, Charles, Maszina and Minnie. George, although only 12 at the time was working in the shoe factory.
Abram died from old age at 75 in Dover July 27, 1892. He was a farmer and married at the time of his death, remains brought to New Durham for burial.
