George William Chandler, 79 of Seymour, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2023 in Seymour.
Services will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Seymour Church of Christ with John Adams and Rev. Derrell Patterson officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.
George was born December 21, 1943 in Seymour to Johnny and Ida Ruth Crouch Chandler. He was a graduate of Seymour High School and worked as a welder and machinist. George married Janice Gay Perkins on July 27, 1968. He was a member of the Church of Christ. George enjoyed hunting and fishing, but loved the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys. He was crazy about his grandkids and great grandkids.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Chandler of Seymour; 2 sons, Joel Chandler of Seymour and Clint and Amanda Chandler of Wichita Falls; 2 grandchildren, Cole and Taylor Chandler of Seymour and Jaeden Chandler of Wichita Falls; 2 great grandchildren, Rainey Chandler and River Chandler; 2 brothers, Gerald and Winona Chandler and Eddie and Beverly Chandler, all of Seymour; 2 sisters, Johnnie Mae and Raymond Skinner of Arkansas and Elaine Owen of Iowa Park and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5:30 until 6:30 Friday at the funeral home.
