Milo Latta Jr., 85, passed away with his family around him Saturday, February 1, 2020. Services will be held 10:30 am Thursday, February 6, 2020, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Madrid, Iowa.

Milo was born June 1, 1934, in Madrid, Iowa, to Milo and Glendora (nee Engstrom) Latta. He married Sue (nee Swartslander) Latta on August 11, 1956, at the Glen Echo Christian Church in Des Moines, Iowa. Together they loved to spend their winters in Alamo, Texas.

Milo worked as a Foreman at the warehouse for Pioneer for 35 years, retiring August 31, 1986. Upon retirement he became a bus driver and a groundskeeper for the Madrid Schools for 28 years, retiring in 2016. He was a Boy Scout Master for many years and received many awards for his leadership. He enjoyed bowling and was the league secretary for the Monday Nite Classic in Madrid for 30 plus years. He was inducted into the Boone County Bowling Association Hall of Fame. Milo also liked to play bingo and other games of chance. Milo enjoyed hunting anything from squirrels, to pheasants, to rabbits. He was a hardworking man and father who taught his kids how to be hard workers. After a full days work, he would come home and work on cars in his garage as an auto mechanic, shear sheep, and do anything that needed done.

Milo is survived by his wife, Sue Latta; sons, Tim (Deb) Latta, Jim (Michelle) Latta, Steve (Katie) Latta; grandchildren, Jess (Scott) Olsen, Angie (James) Armstead, Andrew (Hannah) Latta, Matt Herron, Lexi Latta, Megan Latta, Jason Latta; great-grandchildren, Emma, Zoey, Kayden, Rhett, and Ireland. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mike Latta; as well as his brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 pm Wednesday, February 5, 2020, at Sundberg-Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Madrid.
