Viola Allen of Des Moines passed away on December 8, 2016 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Viola Teresa Allen, was the daughter of Milo & Glendora Latta, she was born Feb. 18, 1927, south of Madrid. She was raised on her parents farm, attended the White Hall School and Madrid High School.
Viola, married Harold LaVerne Allen on March 22, 1947. She worked in food service for 16 years. She loved to crochet, make quilts and go fishing and camping. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Viola is survived by her two daughters Judy (John) Flynn, Joy (Brad) Brown; one brother Milo Latta; 4 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold, 2 sisters and 3 brothers.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m Tuesday December 13, 2016 at Iles Funeral Homes Grandview Park Chapel. Her family will greet friends and family from 5-7 p.m. on Monday December 12, 2016 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
