The marriage of Miss Ruth Bargen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dick Bargen of Nelson, and Herbert Yost of Minden, son of Mr. and Mrs. John J. Yost of Harvard, took place at the Methodist church (sic) in Nelson Thursday evening at 6 o'clock. The Rev. Mr. Hawes read the service. Mrs. Roy Bassett played the processional music.
Miss Dorothy Bargen, sister of the bride, frocked in black velvet, was the maid of honor. Lawrence Yost served his brother as best man.
The bride was gowned in black chiffon velvet, fashioned with gold. Her accessories were in gold and she carried chrysanthemums.
A wedding supper followed.
The bride and groom are former students at the University of Nebraska.
The young couple will reside in Minden.
Paul Yost of Lincoln was an out of town guest.

Ruth Anna Yost, 92, Joplin, Mo., died Jan. 25 at the Spring River Christian Village, Joplin, Mo., following a short illness. Mrs. Yost was born Jan. 18, 1908, near Nelson.
After graduation from high school in 1925, she taught in the Nuckolls County schools for two years. She then entered the University of Nebraska where she graduated with a normal degree in education in 1929.
After graduation, she taught in the Nuckolls County shools until her marriage to Herbert Relland (sic) Yost, on Jan. 10, 1935. He taught Vocational agriculture in Nelson.
After her marriage she became a homemaker and lived in Minden, Gothenberg, Nebraska City and Fremont, Nebraska, where her husband was a teach. She also became a member of the Eastern Star in Nebraska City.
In 1944, they moved to Pawnee City, Nebraska where they owned and operated International Harvester Farm Machinery and Truck, Pontiac Automobile and Norge Appliance dealerships.
Mrs. Yost was a member of the First Methodist Church and active in one of the circles. She was a member of the Tuesday afternoon Club and served as president one year.
In 1957, they moved to Joplin, Missouri, where they owned and operated the former Phoenix Motel, the Home Abstract & Tile Co., and a farm in Carterville, Missouri.
She was a member of the First Community Church and was active in one of the circle. She was a member of Spiva Center for the Arts.
Survivors include a son, Vaughn H. Yost, Huntsville, Ala.; a daughter, Susan Bridgewater, Fairfax, Va. and two granddaughters, Jennifer and Allison Bridgewater of Virginia.
Graveside service were Saturday, January 29, 2000, at 3 p.m., at the Nelson Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Clark Funeral Home of Neosho, Missouri.
