Mrs. Linnie J. Rogers was born September 9, 1956, in Sallis, MS to Lee Matthew and S. C. Rogers both of whom preceded her in death. She was one of five children. One brother, Tyler Rogers, preceded her in death.

Linnie gave her life to Christ at an early age and remained faithful to him throughout her life. She loved to attend church services. She was a devoted member of St. James Church of God in Christ until her health failed.

Linnie received her education in the Attala County School System where she gained her high school diploma. She worked in the education system for many years. She worked with the Early Head Start Program and was a substitute teacher for both Long Creek Elementary and McAdams High School.

Linnie leaves to cherish her memories one sister, Daisy Rogers of Easton, PA; two brothers, Jimmy Rogers and Danny (Mattie) Rogers of Sallis, MS; three God-brothers, Dewayne Veasley of Sallis, MS; Floyd (Rhodie) Veasley and Jessie Veasley both of Freeport, IL; two God-sons, Terrance Brown of Durant, MS; and Jeremiah Greenwood of Sallis, MS; two God-daughter, Emma Witt of Sallis, MS; and Lysandra McMorris of Jackson, MS; God-grandchild, Mac Chisedec Sallis of Sallis, MS; three aunts, Lucille (Marshall), Fleming, and Ida Mae Brown both of Sallis, MS; Janelle Atkins of Greenville, MS; and Linnie Mae Fleming of Jackson, MS. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives, and friends.

Services--- Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at New St. James Church, Sallis, MS.
Interment--- Barlow Cemetery, Sallis, MS.
