"Matt Buranen, age 51, of 115 Adams avenue, died suddenly just before midnight on Wednesday, May 16th*, as he was coming home from his work as a shovel runner for the Oliver Iron Mining company. Survivors include his wife, Hilda; a daughter, Mrs. Frank Hocevar of Detroit, Michigan; a brother, Peter, U. S. army, Victoria, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Alfred Nelson, Alborn, Minn., Mrs. Clarence Kirkpatrick, San Pedro, California, and Mrs. Ann Tregillis, Superior, Wisconsin. Funeral services were conducted on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Peterson Funeral home with Rev. Milma Lapala Erkkila of Cook officiating and interment was in the Eveleth cemetery. The deceased had been a resident of Eveleth for the past 45 years."
