Marvin "Buddy" Nelson Adkins II, 59, died at 8:28 p.m. Thursday, March 8, 2012 at IU Ball Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Hartford City on July 13, 1952 to the late Marvin "Bud" N. Adkins, I and the late Evelyn Ruth (Harden) Adkins.
Buddy graduated from Blackford County High School in 1972.

He married Rosalie (Dunsmore-Kegerreis) Adkins on May 3, 1980 at Little League Park in Hartford City by Joe Castelo.

Buddy had formerly worked at St. Joe Container (Box USA) in Hartford City and was a former Hartford City Volunteer Fire Fighter, where he had completed First and Second Class firefighter training, he attended National Fire Academy's Field Program and had taken a course in Fire and Arson Detection.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Rosalie Adkins of Hartford City; daughters, Elisha (husband, Gregory) Rose Smith of Hartford City; Heidie J. (husband, Jeffery) Norris of Hartford City; grandchildren, Sierra J. Adkins, Matao J. Adkins, Maria A. Adkins, Michelle M. Norris and Michael M. Norris; sisters, Margaret Ann Adkins of Hartford City; Marilyn L. (husband, Lenn D.) DuBois of Hartford City; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 N. High St. Hartford City, IN.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Keplinger Funeral Home.
