Services were held March 16 from the Coen-Beaty Funeral Home in Corning. The Rev. Claude Wood, pastor of the United Church of Christ In Atlantic, officiated. Burial was in the Victoria Cemetery at Massena.
Mrs. Walton attended rural schools in the area and spent most of her life in and around Corning and Massena. Her first marriage was to Kern McCrary. On January 7, 1936 she married Arthur Nelson Walton in Massena.
She was a homemaker. Her hobbles included a large garden. She liked cats and always had pets around.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three sons, Marlin Earl McCrary, Walter Ray McCrary, and Joseph Lee McCrary; two daughters Lola Maxine and Bernice Eileen; two sisters, Clara Mae and Estella Grace; and a brother, Clarence Ray Krauth.
Survivors include a step-son, Carrol Walton (wife Bea) of Atlantic; a step-daughter, Melba (husband Homer) Galllon of Eumclaw, Washington; three daughters-in- law, Trudy (husband Walter) McCrary of El Paso, Texas, JoAnn (husband Joseph) McCrary of Ray, South Dakota, and Marguerite (husband Marlin) McCrary of Newton; 13 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great- grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren.
