Ella Grace was the daughter of Civil War Veteran, Corporal Ira Francis Goodwin and Sarah Elizabeth "Lizzie" (Wilson) Goodwin. On November 16, 1908 Ella married Fred Beatty Larue in Greenwood County, Kansas. He was the son of Thomas Beatty Larue and Margaret Mary Casto.
They were the parents of Howard Goodwin, Harry Caleb, Edgar Mason, and John Henry Larue.
