Mrs. O'Neal was born in Surry County on March 4, 1918, the daughter of the late John Daniel and Zippora Durham Arrington. She was a homemaker and member of Stoney Creek Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Paul Gray O'Neal of Pilot Mountain and three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Lois and Benton Flippen of Mount Airy, Vera Thomas of Mount Airy, and Betty and Harvey Smith of Rural Hall.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. O'Neal was preceded in death by a son, James Roscoe O'Neal and three brothers, Burgie Arrington, Roscoe Arrington, and Johnnie Arrington.
