Robert graduated from Minneapolis High School in Minneapolis, Kansas. He served three years in the United States Navy. He was employed with Southwestern Bell Telephone for over Forty years until retiring. Robert enjoyed hunting and golfing. He also enjoyed watching sports and supported the Kansas State Wildcats, Kansas City Chiefs, and St Louis Cardinals. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family on vacations to Disney World and cruises.
Robert married Marilyn (Peterson) on February 27, 1966. She survives. Other survivors include their daughters, Karla Huffman of Topeka, Kansas and Melissa Carver (Bruce) of Wichita, Kansas; grandchildren, Katelyn Huffman, Jake Huffman, Jackson Huffman, and Karsyn Carver.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Ellsworth and Elene Lloyd; brother, Gail Lloyd; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harlow and Leota Peterson.
His family will be celebrating his life and saying their final good-byes at a private memorial service with military honors at the Fairview Cemetery Ada.
