Charlie "Chuck" Floyd Acholes, age 79, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away on October 20, 2023. He was born in Palmetto, Georgia on October 18, 1944, son of the late Lee Roy Acholes and the late Myrtle Alice Gibson Acholes. He was a veteran of the United States Army, where he proudly served in Vietnam. He was awarded the Bronze Star for a heroic and meritorious deed performed in an armed conflict. He was a member of Ephesus Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years: Sammie Mansfield Acholes; children: Deborah Koutlas (Tim), Denny Easterwood, Darrell Easterwood (Liza), Lisa Shadix, Joey Acholes: grandchildren, Lezley Koutlas, Lynsey Orocio, Earl Easterwood, Danielle Easterwood, Matt Easterwood (Olivia), Andrew Easterwood, Ansley Easterwood, Jacob Shadix (Ansley), David Shadix (Valerie), Meghan Thurmond (Joey), Dusty Garland: great-grandchildren, T.J. Koutlas, Jaydon Orocio, Chloe Orocio, Ryder Shadix, Josh Theobald, Jett Garland: great-great-grandchild, Jayce Koutlas: sister, Virginia "Mina" Collins (Tim): sister-in-law, Melba Acholes.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Cecil Acholes, Nora Teal, Horace Acholes, Mary Long, Rosa Lee Jacque: daughter-in-law, Edie Easterwood.

The family will receive friends at Hightower's Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM.

The funeral service will follow in the Chapel at 2:00 PM with Dr. Billy Godwin and Dr. John Pennington officiating. Larry Cutlip, Alvin Cross, Jacob Shadix, David Shadix, and Russell Hudges will serve as pallbearers.

Interment will follow at Prays Mill Cemetery.
